PlantSuccess 2011 Northeast
Leading Strategies for
Sustainable Operating Excellence
The Hotel du Pont, Wilmington, Del.
November 3, 2011
Supply chain performance drives competitive advantage throughout the petrochemical world. Logistics, process integration, and cultural transformation represent just some of the elements
needed to achieve operating excellence from the supply chain perspective.
Brett Able, Vice President - Integrated Supply Chain, Honeywell Specialty Materials will lead the examination of this vital topic in the morning session of the PlantSuccess Northeast
Conference, November 3rd at The Hotel du Pont. Brett has management oversight for all of Specialty Materials' supply chain operational activities - covering plan,
source, make and deliver - and functional support, including process and project engineering; health, safety and environment; and process safety.
Drawing on a rich experience base at Honeywell SM and almost 35 years at Dow Corning, Brett will share his insights and lead the discussion about the current trends, best practices and lessons learned that help put winning supply chain strategies into every day practice.
What are the habits of great operators? What do savvy leaders look at to get an accurate snap shot of conditions at their plants? What clues signal accelerating levels of risk? Following effective lines of inquiry lie at the heart of effective, efficient and practical methods all leadership teams need to keep operations on track.
John Sieg, BP's Group Head of Operations, leads the team at BP charged with making the transition to a new operating management system. In this role, John is setting BP's course to creating a
uniform level of safe, responsible, reliable and efficient operations performance. John came to BP in 2006 after spending thirty three years at DuPont working in all aspects of site and global operations.
John will kick off the afternoon session by sharing his experiences at BP and DuPont in identifying and tackling the "vital few" critical success factors he has observed in moving operations from good to great.
Brett and John will be joined by a panel of experts representing widely diverse experiences in developing operating strategies for supply chain and improved operations. They will open the floor for discussion, debate and illumination of how to get there from here.
