Joe Pietrantonio
Vice President -- Global Operations,
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
Joseph M. Pietrantonio was appointed vice president, Global Operations in
December 2007. He is responsible for the worldwide leadership and management of
Air Products' gases, chemicals and electronics manufacturing operations.
Mr. Pietrantonio joined Air Products in 1982 as a participant in the company's
Career Development Program and subsequently held various assignments in process
engineering, development and project engineering. Mr. Pietrantonio's early career
was spent in the area of non-cryogenic separation technologies, where he held
project management and product development positions. In 1990 he joined the
Air Separation equipment sales group and was responsible for sales in northern Asia,
primarily in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. Mr. Pietrantonio then joined the North
American Standard Plants business area, where he managed the onsite business for
General Industries, and later included the tonnage Metals business. In 1999 he
moved to Global Engineering as product supply team manager, Generated Gases.
In 2002 Mr. Pietrantonio transferred to Hersham, England, where he was named
general manager, European Engineering and Manufacturing, and the following year
was appointed vice president, Global Engineering-Europe. In 2004 he returned to
the U.S. where he was appointed vice president, Global Operations-Americas.
Mr. Pietrantonio was born in 1959 in Woodbury, N.J. He received B.S. and M.S.
degrees in chemical engineering from Lehigh University in 1982 and 1986,
respectively, and holds two U.S. patents.
